Back to the Dawn (动物迷城) is a prison-escape RPG set in the maximum-security Boulderton Prison, where every animal-shaped inmate has a past and a plan. You choose between two protagonists: Thomas the Fox, a journalist framed for exposing a city conspiracy, or Bob the Panther, a burnt-out undercover agent pulled back for one last job after a personal tragedy. Each protagonist runs a 20+ hour campaign with its own narrative through-line.

The prison is a working ecosystem. Three powerful gangs run the inside, 47 uniquely crafted inmates have their own personalities and stories, and over 100 handcrafted quests structure the daily routine. You can play model prisoner or chaos agent, fight or befriend any given character, join a gang or run as a cunning lone wolf. Skills span combat, stealth, and persuasion archetypes.

Multiple escape routes — each with its own risks and rewards — lead out of Boulderton. The story branches across several possible endings, with more than 500,000 words of dialogue and narration. The pixel-art style covers a richly detailed prison environment from cells and infirmary down to the sewers and rooftops, and the cumulative tone sits somewhere between hardboiled noir and animal cartoon, played dead straight.
