Dune Imperium

Dune: Imperium is the digital adaptation of the award-winning board game of the same name — a hybrid of deck-building and worker placement set on Arrakis. You take the role of a leader of one of the Great Houses of the Imperium, and the goal is the same one Herbert's universe has always cared about: control of the planet, the spice it produces, and the political machinery that decides which.

Each round, you draw five cards from your deck and play them either as agents — sent into the Imperium to gather resources, recruit troops, or lobby factions — or revealed at round's end to buy stronger cards. Building a deck that balances economic, political and military strength is the central puzzle. The game lasts ten rounds, each centered on a new Conflict on the planet's surface that awards resources, victory points or both.

Four factions sit at the heart of the political layer: the Emperor, the Spacing Guild, the Bene Gesserit and the Fremen. Influence with each opens different paths — council seats, alliances, troops, intel — and abandoning one to pursue another carries the same kind of consequences it would in the books. The strategic choices feed back into the cards you can buy and the seats you can occupy.

The digital release covers online play, local play against AI, and a campaign against the formidable House Hagal solo opponent. Skirmish Mode rotates rules between matches for variety, more than a dozen Challenges test specific strategic ideas, and an achievement system rewards mastery across the various paths to victory. The Spice, as the marketing always says, must flow.
