About House
House is a short pixel-art horror adventure in which the building you and your family live in is, very explicitly, trying to kill you. You play a young girl racing against time over the course of a single night, exploring rooms that change and react to your actions in real time as the house works through whatever twisted plan its haunted interior is executing. The protagonist's goal is to change the family's fate — or fall into the darkness with them.
The game's structure leans into the morally ambiguous decisions horror narratives often glance over. Family members can be befriended or beheaded; items can be combined and experimented with in ways the game doesn't always advertise; the layout of the house mutates based on what you've discovered and what you've done. Multiple endings reward different combinations of choices, with the harder ones requiring genuine attention to the small environmental clues scattered throughout the rooms.
The pixel-art style is intentionally austere — small, deliberate animations carry most of the horror weight rather than gore or jump-scare set pieces, and the writing trusts the player to register the wrongness of what's happening without over-explanation. Challenging, non-linear gameplay and a deliberately compact runtime keep the experience focused, and the dark family secrets at the core of the story unfold across replays as you chase the endings you missed the first time through.
