About Six Ages 2 Lights Going Out

Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out is a standalone follow-up in the Six Ages series, sitting in the same lineage as Ride Like the Wind and the much older King of Dragon Pass, set in the long-developed bronze age world of Glorantha. The framing is darker than its predecessor: ten generations after the events of Ride Like the Wind, the world is ending. Gods are dying, mythology itself is breaking down, and your small clan — the only Storm people who also ride — has to find a way to survive through what amounts to a slow apocalypse.

Gameplay combines interactive fiction with turn-based clan-management strategy. You manage relationships with the remaining gods and their followers, explore the wilderness, trade or raid neighboring clans, settle mundane and spiritual disputes, improve pastures, make offerings, build altars, and even travel to the Otherworld when the situation demands it. Most decisions have no clean right or wrong answer — the deep simulation underneath produces situations specific to your clan's history and circumstances, and consequences can take decades to surface.

Over 600 interactive scenes with multiple system-driven outcomes give the game enormous replayability. Short episodes and automatic saving make it easy to play in two-minute increments or extended sessions. A built-in saga records your clan's history as it unfolds, and advisors track your promises while frequently bickering among themselves about your choices. Miracles, in the Glorantha tradition, always require sacrifice — and in a dying world, the costs are higher than ever. Saves from Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind can be imported to continue an existing storyline into the Great Darkness.
