About Starward Rogue
Starward Rogue is a cult-classic twin-stick bullet-hell shooter often compared to The Binding of Isaac. You play a head harvested from a Space Hydra and stuck inside a mech, blasting through the Megalith, a rogue-lite labyrinth lodged in the side of a star. Each run evolves and expands the catacombs with new content and challenges based on previous successes.
The content depth is substantial. Nine starting mechs each have wide-ranging abilities: time control, shot magnetism, perk randomization and more. Five difficulty levels span Relatively Easy to Nigh Impossible. Over 350 items (active weapons, single-use consumables, passive upgrades), 150+ regular enemies, 10+ minibosses, and 20+ epic bosses populate the dungeon. Over 500 rooms exist, including special condemned survival rooms.
During runs, characters level up through a perk system that supports varied build diversity. Shops scattered through the catacombs sell upgrades. Hidden secrets include incredibilities that massively alter how the game plays. Over-the-top mod support with detailed wiki documentation lets the community create enemies, items, weapons and rooms. Arcen Games developed and published, with full keyboard-and-mouse or gamepad support.
