About Super Kiwi 64

Super Kiwi 64 is a small 3D platformer and collectathon from Siactro, the developer behind Macbat 64 and Toree 3D, with the same focus on tight, focused level design and the late-90s low-poly aesthetic that the studio has spent years refining. You play a kiwi — the bird, complete with its absurdly long beak — moving through a series of self-contained levels collecting whatever the game has scattered around them.

The traversal toolkit is modest but expressive. The kiwi can jump, glide on the wind, perform a corkscrew attack for dispatching small enemies, and stick to walls in a way that lets you climb almost any vertical surface with the right approach. The level design is built specifically around that small set of verbs, which keeps the moment-to-moment platforming readable while still leaving space for the kind of out-of-the-way collectibles the genre lives on.

The campaign structure is non-linear: levels can be played in any order, and you don't need to finish every level to reach the ending — collecting enough across the available levels unlocks the final segment. The runtime is short on purpose, the visual style is openly indebted to the N64 era of platformers, and the entire package is the kind of compact, focused tribute that one-developer projects do better than larger studios are usually willing to attempt.
