About Cavern of Dreams
Cavern of Dreams plays like a long-lost cartridge from the 1998-2000 collectathon boom, complete with the low-poly geometry, fixed-camera-adjacent control feel, and a single-musical-theme-with-variations approach to each world. Fynn, a small green dragon, sets out to recover the eggs of his unhatched siblings after a mysterious villain spirits them away.
Four open worlds branch out from a central hub, each themed differently and each riddled with secrets the developer hides in places that reward poking at every wall and ledge. The Sage at the heart of the cavern grants Fynn new body parts — tail, wings, more — and each addition becomes a movement verb that lets you reach areas you walked past in the early hours.
There's no combat in the game; the design is built around platforming, puzzle solving, and conversation with a cast that includes trees, mermaids, and a sentient soup dumpling. Forty eggs sit at the difficulty extremes, mushrooms feed your hatchlings, and an encyclopedia of collectible cards rewards thorough players. The OST shifts variations on each world's theme based on where you currently are inside it.
