About Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder's Revenge
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a side-scrolling beat-em-up developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu, the studio behind Streets of Rage 4. The game is openly built as a love letter to the 1987 TMNT animated series and to the era's arcade brawlers, particularly Turtles in Time, with pixel art directly inspired by the source cartoon's character designs, vehicles, weapons, items and backgrounds.
The combat is classic brawling mechanics modernised. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and a roster of unlockable allies each have their own movesets, special abilities and stat profiles, with radical combos, throws, taunts and supers tying together intense fights against waves of Foot Soldiers, Triceraton Warriors, Rock Troops and the full bench of 80s-cartoon recurring villains. Up to six players can fight simultaneously through the campaign or arcade mode, which is the highest player count any TMNT brawler has ever supported.
The story follows Bebop and Rocksteady stealing super-gnarly devices from Channel 6 in support of Krang and Shredder's latest plan to conquer New York. The campaign sends the team across a tour of iconic TMNT locations — Manhattan rooftops, dank sewers, Coney Island, all the way to Dimension X — with sub-bosses pulled directly from the 1987 show's recurring villain roster. A Story mode and an Arcade mode coexist alongside online and local co-op support, and the soundtrack matches the visual presentation with composition that lifts the energy of the original cartoon's score without copying it.
