About The Little Red Lie
The Little Red Lie is a short 2D side-scrolling adventure with horror elements, built around a single-protagonist mystery that spreads outward from a deceptively gentle premise. Ten years have passed since the death of Red's grandmother, and Red has returned to the forest she remembers from childhood to honor her memory. The journey is meant to be quiet and personal. It doesn't stay that way.
In the forest she meets a mysterious cat who reveals startling and disturbing information — pieces of the past that don't fit the story Red remembers, hints that what actually happened to her grandmother is different from what she's spent ten years believing. The cat sets her off on a harrowing journey deeper into the woods, where the player solves puzzles, avoids monsters and gradually pieces together the truth about events from a decade earlier.
The game runs three different endings depending on choices made along the way, each reframing what the player thinks they've understood about the central mystery. The pacing is short and tightly focused — the kind of small horror story that earns its length rather than padding it out — and the gentle 2D art style works in deliberate contrast to the darker material that the cat keeps surfacing as the story progresses.
