Wytchwood

Wytchwood casts you as the old witch of the woods in a storybook countryside built from gothic fables and fairytales. Each chapter centers on a character — greedy merchant, wicked king, faithless lover — and your job is to research their behavior, brew the appropriate magical concoction, and teach them the moral of their own story. After all, how else will they learn?

Crafting is the central gameplay verb. You gather, grow, and combine bizarre ingredients — toxic toadstools, eye of newt, bottled fear, the kind of stuff every witch's pantry needs. Recipe research unlocks new spells and curses as you collect ingredients across the countryside, and each spell has specific effects that map onto specific narrative outcomes.

Alientrap's art style is hand-illustrated storybook with sharp linework and saturated colors, halfway between a children's picture book and a darker edition of the same. The world is allegorical — every encounter sketches out a small fable in microcosm — and your role as the witch is part fairy-godmother, part horror element, depending on what each character actually deserves.
