OVIVO

OVIVO is a minimalist 2D platformer in a black-and-white world with an unusual mechanic. OVO, the main character, is created from the two halves of the world and can swap between them. When OVO is black on white, black elements are platforms and white space is walkable with gravity pulling downward. Swap colors and the relationship inverts: white becomes platforms, black becomes space, gravity pulls upward.

Flow mechanics anchor the gameplay. Preservation of momentum during color transitions lets OVO float along the boundary between black and white as if carried by a current. The metaphorical world fills itself with illusions, hidden messages, and mysterious symbols collected along the way. Symbols help unravel the story, though interpretation is left entirely to you.

No text appears anywhere. The narrative unfolds through gameplay and visuals alone. Fascinating Perm-influenced art carries the metaphorical layer, optical illusions populate the levels, and Brokenkites' meditative ambient soundtrack anchors the atmosphere.
