About Predynastic Egypt
Predynastic Egypt is a turn-based historical simulation that traces the long path from the nomadic tribes of 5000 BC to the unification of Lower and Upper Egypt around 3000 BC. The game covers a period before the Great Pyramids that most popular media never visits, when the Sahara was still a savannah and the Wadis were active rivers rather than dry roads.
The simulation models 100+ events and trials including wars, drought, enemy invasions, epidemics, internal turmoil, tribal migrations, religious ceremonies, exploration of distant lands, and celebrations. 48 historically accurate technologies and cultural achievements show the technological evolution of mankind through the Egyptian example, with descriptions written for genuine archaeological accuracy. The religious arc traces the birth of the unique Nile civilization's spiritual system, from spirit beliefs to the gods of Predynastic Egypt.
The map is reconstructed from real Egyptian geography of the 5000-3000 BC period, accounting for the dramatic climate shifts that transformed the region. The city of Hierakonpolis — once the center of Predynastic Egypt — is reconstructed from actual archaeological digs of the 20th and 21st centuries, with houses, temples, and tombs based on excavated structures. Your decisions in real historical situations determine whether you re-enact or rewrite history.
